FORT VALLEY STATE -- Delta State showed why it reached the Division II national championship a year ago, mixing up its offense and taking advantage of Fort Valley States offensive woes for a 27-7 win Saturday night over the Wildcats.
FVSU fell to 0-2 while Delta Stateimproved to 2-1. The Statesmen were ranked 11th and sixth in two major Division II polls.

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Miles Golden Bears squeaked by Stillman to claim the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Western Division title with a 9-7 victory, one year after going 3-8 and finishing near the bottom of the conference.

FAIRFIELD, Alabama -- A ho-hum start gave way to a frenzied finish as Miles College came up with five turnovers in the second half on its way to a 45-24 victory over Kentucky State on Saturday at Albert J. Sloan-Alumni Stadium.

AUGUSTA, GA – Junior RB “Jordan Lewis” scored one of two TDs in the final minute of regulation and another five plays later in overtime to give Miles College (2-3; 1-1) a 20-14 the win over the Tigers of Benedict College (1-4; 0-2) Saturday, October 1 in the Augusta City Classic at Lucy C. Laney Stadium in Augusta, Georgia.
